This application is to be completed by all adults desiring a position involving the supervision of minors. It is being used to help the church provide a safe and secure environment for the kids who participate in our programs and use our facilities. Please complete all information.

Permission to Obtain Background Check

All volunteer applicants must consent to a background check. Windsor Vineyard Church utilizes Checkr, a company that runs background checks, to complete this process. By clicking "I agree" below , you authorize Windsor Vineyard Church through its independent contractor, Checkr, to procure background information (also know as consumer report and/or investigative consumer report about you. This report may include your driving history, including any traffic citations, a social security number verification, present and former addresses, criminal and civil history/records, and the state and national sex offender records. I understand that I am entitled to a complete copy of any background information report of which I am the subject upon my request to Windsor Vineyard Church if such is made within a reasonable time from the date it was produced. I also understand that I may receive a written summary of my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

You will receive an email invite from Checkr to submit the necessary information to start your background check. The email invite is good for 7 days.

Windsor Vineyard Safe Kids Policies

The disturbing and traumatic rise of the physical and sexual abuse of children has claimed the attention of our society. The following policies reflect our commitment to provide protective care to all kids and volunteers who participate in Vineyard Kids.

1. All applicants for service in Vineyard Kids are required to complete an application which includes personal information, history of past work with kids, and two adult references. Failure to return a completed application will disqualify a candidate for a position within Windsor Vineyard Kids.

2. All applicants must consent to reference and background checks

3. Applicants who have a record of child sexual or physical abuse are not eligible to serve in any activity sponsored by Windsor Vineyard Kids.

4. Females must be at least 16 years of age to be a Small Group Leader, Males at least 16 years old may volunteer as a Small Group Leader in PreK or 1st -5th grade rooms during regular weekend services.

5. All applicants must go through volunteer orientation.

6. Applicants should understand that child sexual abuse can happen anywhere, including churches. Applicants must be committed to doing their part to keep our environment free of this horrific event. Upon request, we can send you a video to help you become informed on the subject of preventing child sexual abuse in the church.

Safe Kid Rules:

1. No person volunteering with kids in any Windsor Vineyard sponsored program or serving in a manner representing Windsor Vineyard Kids may be under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, or illegal drugs.

2. Volunteers will manage their groups appropriately, following our discipline policy.

3. Volunteers or childcare workers will maintain strict guidelines for appropriate touch: top of the head, shoulders, elbows, hands, sideways hugs. Kids have the right to say "no" to being touched.

4. Volunteers or childcare workers may not hold kids older than three years old on their laps.

5. Kids age 6 or older may visit the restroom alone, accompanied by an adult who checks to see that the restroom is empty before allowing the child to enter. The adult waits outside in clear view of others.

6. Leaders may never be alone in a restroom with any child (except their own). They must be accompanied by another leader (which may include Team Leader close by) or other kids. Kids younger than 6 years of age much be taken to the restroom in groups. Parents are paged for diaper changes unless they have given verbal consent to change or noted on check in tag.

7. Lights must be on in any room in which kids are present. All lights may not be turned off when viewing videos.

8. Security windows are placed in all classrooms. They may not be covered in such a way as to prevent those outside the room from seeing into the classroom.

9. Anyone in contact with kids must always observe the "two adult" rule. This requires that no leader is ever out of sight of another team member which may include the Team Leader close by.

10. Kids will be released only to the person presenting a valid pick-up ticket for that child. In the event an adult tries to claim a child without a ticket, the Team Leader must be notified immediately.

11. Volunteers or childcare workers should immediately report any behaviors which seem abusive, inappropriate, or in violation on any of our policies to their Team Leader, Director or Staff member.

12. Volunteers must wear a Vineyard Kids name tag.

Applicant's Statement

The information contained in this application is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. By signing below (digital signature), I authorize a Windsor Vineyard Staff member or Pastor to make an independent investigation of my background, references, character, past employment, education, criminal or police records, including those by both public and private organizations, and all public records for the purpose of confirming the information contained in my application form, and/or obtaining other information which may be material to my qualifications for employment or as a volunteer now and during the tenure of my association with Vineyard Kids.

I release Windsor Vineyard Church and any person or entity that provides information pursuant to this authorization from any and all liabilities, claims, or lawsuits in regards to the information obtained from any and all of the above referenced sources used.

Should my application be accepted, I agree to follow the policies of Windsor Vineyard Church and to refrain from any kind of unscriptural conduct that may affect my qualifications to serve on behalf of the church.

I understand that the personal information herein will be held confidential by the church staff.

I further understand that in the event of any accusation of child abuse or molestation made against me, Windsor Vineyard Church will notify the proper authorities of the accusation, will fully cooperate with authorities in such an investigation, and will if deemed necessary, publicly publish or announce the results of such an investigation.
